Welwyn Tool Company was formed in 1952 by Robert Berman when the relationship with Karl Leister was forged and a new distribution network starting in the UK for the LEISTER product range began. 

The company changed management in the early 1980's when Thomas Berman took the reigns as Managing Director and helped pioneer LEISTER across new and emerging markets.

Welwyn Tool Company became Welwyn Tool Group in 2005 after Mr Berman announced his retirement, and a management buyout was put into effect by the key personnel of the old company.
