Leister UNIPLAN 300 Thermal Bonding Kits for hem welds in sun shade and awning material. Hem welding kits are available in 18, 20 and 22mm widths, turning the UNIPLAN 300 into an efficient and cost effective hem bonding machine for acrylic material like sunshades and awnings.
Description
The new Hem Thermal Bonding kits from Leister allow the UNIPLAN 300 to become an efficient and cost effective hem bonding machine for acrylic material like sunshades and awnings.
The advantages of bonding acrylic material instead of sewing includes a significantly higher tensile strength, retained watertightness as good as the original fabric (the material isn't punctured to insert any thread) and elasticity of the seam remains similar to the original material. In addition a bonded hem seam retains a higher UV resistance, has less wrinkles caused by rolling of the awning and there is no friction between yarn and the acrylic material.
The new hem thermal bonding kits come in 3 widths: 18mm, 20mm and 22mm.
Each kit comes complete with the following items:-
- - Bonding Nozzle 174.901
- - Bonding Nozzle holder
- - Tape de-reeler
- - Hem guide in 18mm (175.330), 20mm (175.329) or 22mm (175.328)(depending on the kit option selected)
- - Stick and weld strap (24 pcs) 175.337
Once you have purchased one of the hem kits, additional hem bonding guides can be purchased to increase the options for hem widths e.g. once you have the 18mm kit you can purchase the additional guides for the 20mm and 22mm which will work with the original kit system.
The Thermal Bonding Tape suppliers are Gluetex in Germany and Trivantage in the US. There are 3 main types of bonding tape:-
- - Single layer adhesive tape - NOT SUITABLE for use with the thermal bonding kit
- - Non-woven reinforced adhesive tape - Highly suitable for use with the thermal bonding kit
- - Glassfibre reinforced adhesive tape - Suitable for use with the thermal bonding kit
The recommended settings when using the Thermal Bonding Kit are as follows: Speed should be 4 - 5.5m/min, Temperature should be 480-520°C and the Airflow should be set to 100 %.

Delivery Exceptions and Exclusions
Unfortunately there are a few areas where next working day delivery isn't possible because of their remote location. However we always try to delivery to these areas within 2 working days. In certain circumstances items can sometimes take more than 7 days due to limited courier availability and weather conditions in these areas.
The restricted postcodes are as follows:
ZE, HS, KW, IV, AB, PH, DD, PA, BT, IM, GY, JE, PO (Isle of Wight).
Where restricted postcodes are on the Mainland delivery will be:
£4.50 +VAT for items up to and including £100 (ex VAT)
£7.50 +VAT for items over £100 (ex VAT)
A minimum of two working days applies to orders with Mainland restricted postcodes placed online before 3pm.
For restricted postcodes that are not on the Mainland delivery will be:
£14.50 +VAT for all items
For these items a minimum of two working days applies to orders placed online before 3pm.
