WELDPLAST 605: Leister's Latest Heavy Duty Digitally Regulated 6kg/h Geomembrane Extrusion Welder for Civil Engineering

The WELDPLAST 605 is the latest heavy duty hand-held geomembrane extrusion welder from Leister. Significant changes from the previous S6 version include reduced weight (reduced from 14kg to 12.2kg), lower power consumption (down from 4600W to 3680W) and importantly for the first time, allowing the use of a 16A power outlet (previously the WELDPLAST S6 required a 32A connection).

The WELDPLAST 605's power consumption, at 3680W, is on the edge of what is achievable from a 16A supply, so Leister has introduced the same intelligent power management from the UNIROOF 700, enabling the extruder to weld reliably even with a certain amount of under-voltage. If the voltage drop becomes too high, the extruder turns off automatically to protect against compromised welding quality, and therefore expensive and time consuming rework. Another benefit of the intelligent power management system is "Eco mode", which on the WELDPLAST 605 allows users to achieve up to 40 percent energy saving during work breaks.

Leister's new extruder is also 12cm shorter than the WELDPLAST S6, meaning the user can get closer to the job and experiences less cantilever stress when operating the tool. It also means welding while kneeling is much more comfortable. The redesigned and repositioned forward facing power chord means less chance of snagging on the operator, making manoeuvring the WELDPLAST 605 even easier than with the previous model. This powerful civil engineering extruder enables geomembranes made of PP and all varieties of PE (HD-PE, LD-PE, LLD-PE) in mines, landfills, fish breeding ponds, water reservoirs and the like. The WELDPLAST 605 is the most powerful geomembrane hand extruder from Leister and is characterised by its high output of up to six kilograms per hour. It has a double-sided rod intake that gives the powerful Leister hand extruder more flexibility when welding large objects or areas. The WELDPLAST 605 has several positive features that make it particularly suited to civil engineering: for example, its specific screw with dual-zone heating is designed for extrusion welding on geomembranes made of PE and PP in mines, landfills, fish breeding ponds, water reservoirs and the like.

Various preheating nozzles ensure optimal heat when welding. Examples of applications include welding T-joints, fittings and carrying out repairs, etc. In addition to the brushless blower motor, it has a brushless drive motor which gives the WELDPLAST 605 hand extruder a lot of power and a long, low-maintenance service life. Bright and Smart LED work lights

The LED work lights on the WELDPLAST 605 have two functions; first, it provides bright and clear illumination of the welding zone from both sides. Secondly, the LED lights illuminate to indicate when the extruder has reached its operating temperature after preheating.

Balanced handle for easy use

The well-balanced bow handle allows different grip positions, making it easy to carry and enables safe standing or welding while kneeling for more controlled use.

Proof of quality based on documented welding parameters with LQS and myLeister app

The increasing quality requirements in civil engineering were also taken into account when developing the hand extruder. To accommodate this, the WELDPLAST 605 is equipped with the proven Leister Quality System (LQS), like the new GEOSTAR and TWINNY automatic welders. With the myLeister app, the welding parameters, including GPS coordinates, are also recorded and clearly documented in a log when welding.
