WELDPLAST 600: Leister's Latest Heavy Duty Digitally Regulated 6kg/h Plastic Extrusion Welder

The WELDPLAST 600 is the latest heavy duty hand-held extrusion welder from Leister. Significant changes from the previous S6 version include reduced weight, down from 14kg to 12.2kg, lower power consumption, down from 4600W to 3680W and importantly allowing the use of a 16A power outlet for the first time (previously the WELDPLAST S6 required a 32A connection).

Power consumption, at 3680W, is on the edge of what is achievable from a 16A supply, so Leister has introduced the same intelligent power management from the UNIROOF 700. This smart power control enables the extruder to weld reliably even with a certain amount of under-voltage. If the voltage drop becomes too high, the extruder turns off automatically to protect against compromised welding quality, and therefore expensive and time consuming rework. Another benefit of the intelligent power management system is "Eco mode", which on the WELDPLAST 600 allows users to achieve up to 40 percent energy saving during work breaks.

Leister's new extruder is also 12cm shorter, meaning the user can get closer to the job and experiences less cantilever stress when operating the tool. The redesign and repositioning of the power chord, so that it is now forward facing, means less chance of snagging on the operator, making manoeuvring the WELDPLAST 600 even easier than with the previous model. This powerful extruder enables convenient extrusion welding in tank and container construction, aquaculture construction and repair, even for large and thick objects as well as boat construction and repair.

Powerful, versatile and low-maintenance

The WELDPLAST 600 is the most powerful hand extruder from Leister and is characterised by its high output of up to six kilograms per hour. It has a double-sided rod intake that gives the powerful Leister hand extruder more flexibility when welding large objects made of polyethylene (HDPE) and polypropylene (PP). The WELDPLAST 600 is suitable for welding plastic tanks, electroplating tanks, water reservoirs, fish breeding tanks, flue gas scrubbing systems, pipelines, etc. In addition to the brushless blower motor, it has a brushless drive motor. This gives the WELDPLAST 600 hand extruder a lot of power and a long, low-maintenance service life.

Bright and Smart LED work light

The LED work light on the WELDPLAST 600 has two functions; first, it provides bright and clear illumination of the welding zone. Secondly, the LED light illuminates to indicate when the extruder has reached its operating temperature after preheating.

Semi-automated work process ready

With its mechanical and electrical interfaces, the WELDPLAST 600 is designed and preconfigured for integration into semi-automated work processes. This is an advantage when extrusion welding large and heavy objects in tank and container construction. This makes it possible to carry out extrusion welding remotely or via a robot in repetitive or time-consuming work processes.

Proof of quality based on documented welding parameters with LQS and myLeister app

The increasing quality requirements for tanks and containers were also taken into account when developing this extruder. That is why the WELDPLAST 600 is equipped with the proven Leister Quality System (LQS). Via the myLeister app, the welding parameters can be clearly documented in a log while welding. This is an advantage for users, as it allows them to showcase the quality of the work they have carried out.
